One of the greatest strengths the Janus software has is we created the entire software platform from scratch. When we first began brainstorming what we wanted our software to be, we looked at the competition that was currently out there in the project management software industry. What we found was a majority of the software solutions were compilations of several programs with an integrated series of API’s.
This means if one of those pillars suddenly disappeared, the entire platform itself would collapse. This is something we never wanted to happen with Janus. By creating each part of the software platform ourselves, we not only ensure their seamlessness in working together, but also the stability of the platform in the long term.
Our custom build also allows us to work internally on the system for each client’s iteration, think on an Enterprise level but without the cost. We know that each solar company is different in their structure and work flow. Hence, the Janus software allows for such flexibility and modification of the system making it work best for everyone. This is contrary to our competitors, who sell project management logistic software out of a box in a one size fits all mentality.
What we love most about the ability to shape and custom tailor Janus is that it offers the ability to learn about and cater to new needs that our clients have. In its first iteration, Janus had the time clock check in and check out feature that allowed for the tracking of installers and contractors. This was a very desirable aspect that few other logistics platforms have and to make it even better, one of our clients had a component they needed added to that function.
The client wondered if it would be possible to assign a monetary value to the different contractor’s hours. This value would be their rate per hour which could then calculate each contractor’s cost for the day in day out, as well as calculate payroll.
Our programmers jumped at the great idea and quickly implemented this feature. Now, if a solar client so desires, they can utilize Janus to calculate the payroll for the contractors and installers based on their on the clock times. We have even created the system such that you can easily export this data into Quickbooks.
